I live in a country where i have the freedom to live and do as i please. I live in a country where if I walk 4 km in one direction from my home, i would be in a muslim majority area. I live in a country where if i walk 4 km in another direction i would reach a hindu majority area. I live in a country where I am fortunate enough to see the amalgamation of such diverse religions, practices and cultures.I live in a country where I have the freedom to call a spade a spade. I live in a country that has a glorious history and its strength lies in the democracy it believes in. I live in a country where i can call out someone as high in a post as the PM and openly be critical of him. I live in a country where opinions, debates and critically viewing actions are encouraged.
When there is injustice happening, when there is inequality being practiced, when someone is denied the basic democratic rights, its not the country that has failed its people.
India is too big an entity to go down that petty path. This county has failed no one. Its people like me who have failed my country and failed to understand what it stands for.
Centuries have gone by, making this country unique, culturally rich, it had been the witness of the rise and fall of empires, has the heart to absorb religions, cultures, is the home to the people who explored it. In the present day, India is nothing short of magic.
