My Musings ~ 6

life, Questions, Reflections, Uncategorized

Somewhere between living and existing, We forget ourselves.
Somewhere between beathing and surviving,

We forget what out passions are.
Somewhere between socialising and smiling,

We forget what makes us laugh.
Somewhere between being cautious and walking,

We forget what baring our soul means.
Somewhere between being hurt and holding on to the grudges,

We forget to heal.
Its not about the people

Its not about the actions

Somewhere between keeping a count of it all,

We forget our life is ultimately only about us.

Incidents, events and actions dont directly shape a person. What shapes a person is, the memory of that incident, the memory of that action and the memory of that event. That one particular memory, that stays.
Often, it might be a simple tiny thing like a “hello” but the way it makes us feel is the memory we form of that “hello” and the person who said it.

Life is a long journey. So many things happen, people happen, heartbreaks happen, success happens but we tend to remember and embed only those that made us feel, made us feel anything, like happiness, calm, peace, tranquility, anger, hurt, humiliation, betrayal. A culmination of these feelings make us.
contrary to however impressive an entry a person makes, its the exit that shows the true colours of one’s personality, showing the steel and the grit of the person who just walked away, leaving behind that thought, leaving us feeling a certain way. Because that feeling stays. For good or bad, for better or for worse depends on the experience but, the feeling of it stays. Reshaping us, making us.

Each soul that walks this earth has a unique journey. No two people, however close, can see the world in exactly the same way, have the same experience, learn the same lessons, pack away the same wisdom from witnessing the same actions.
Each one of us is a unique creation. Capable of making an impact, realizing the places where efforts are needed, believing in a cause. Believing in the unique self.

Our existence on this earth is nothing less than a miracle. Our survival here is the culmination of a series of non fatal incidents.  We, tiny beings on this planet, suspended in this infinite universe, in one of the many galaxies, have the audacity to be arrogant, to behave and act as if we own the earth, as if the nature bows to us, as if we are the creators.
The truth being, we create nothing, we are just a bunch of over confident, egoistic, supercilious beings.

We pride ourselves on being the inventors, the discoverers, the makers. We forget, we are allowed to create here for as long as our creations do not enrage the nature, do not cause the equilibrium to flip. We forget we are so tiny and so minuscule that one angry stare of the nature would be enough to wipe us all out.

For us, there is no forever.

Dont exist, live !

How to deal with life in two simple ways:
1.
2.

Are you kidding me? You seriously thought you can deal with whatever crap happens in your life in just two easy steps? This is not about the lousy movie that you saw or the friend you fought with. Here, we are talking about life. And there is no way life lets you get away with a few baby cuts and bruises. Life would throw some serious scars at you, some laugh lines and some memories that can never be erased.

Would you exchange your scars for the laugh lines? If you ask me, I won’t. I like my scars. They remind me of the fool I have been, they remind me of the pain I have gone through and they also remind me how every time I came out nothing but stronger and shinier.
I love my laugh lines too. They remind me to cherish and value the people who gave them to me. They remind me that I am loved and they remind me that life is, in fact, not only beautiful, it’s gorgeous.
There is no set formula to deal with life. There is just you. You smile, and you would be happy. You cry and you would be sad. There is no one else responsible for your happiness. When we say life is tough, we actually mean either we made some choices that we shouldn’t have, or we placed faith where it wasn’t required. In either case, its again you, yourself. Yes, there are situations where you feel helpless, there are times when you feel the pain and the agony and the hurt and there are times when you feel too angry to even think clearly. But, then again, believing in your own self and to keep moving forward is the only way to face the odds.
Also, believing in dreams, people and life should never cease. One mistake, one wrong judgment, one betrayal can never define a person. If anyone lets these define their life, the battle is lost there and then.
Each reality check, each set back, each incident that rattles you from within can either break you or make you. You can either lie sprawled on your couch sulking away in the glory of pop corn and tv or you can get up, get dressed and face the world.
Life is beautiful. No, in fact, it is amazing.

Hide and Seek

Illusions are what life is made ofWhile the reality stealthily escapes us
The illusion of our own being

The illusion of the people around us

The illusion of love and hate

The illusion of feelings
The reality manages to elude and misguide

While we knit a world of our imagination

Putting our beliefs in it

Nurturing the facade with our illusions
The reality often smiles

Looking down at the charade we have created

Often with its breath ruffling up the surface of our curtain of illusions

Thinking, if that makes one happy,

My entrance can be slightly delayed

So much love!

A small guide to the lovely quotes our Uttar Pradesh CM has been giving over the past few years.
Those asking me to give him a chance, i am not sure what kind of “chance” they were talking about.
Lets cut the crap and have a look at these glorious quotes :
1. I will not stop till I turn UP and India into a Hindu rashtra.

Yogi Adityanath at Etah, Uttar Pradesh in 2005
(My my.. what a man! What sense of nationalism and what lovely flowery sentiments! )
2. Every time a Hindu visits the Vishwanath temple, the Gyanvapi mosque taunts us. If given a chance, we will install statues of Goddess Gauri, Ganesh and Nandi in every mosque.
Sir speaking at Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s Virat Hindu Sammelan.
(Such hinduism would surely make the gods bless him personally)
3. At a temple ceremony in Varanasi, the Lok Sabha constituency of PM Narendra Modi, Adityanath had declared that those opposing the surya namaskar, a salutation to the sun, should leave the country. Or better still, drown in the ocean.

(So, apart from Modi, lotus, saffron colour and Hinduism, now Yoga has also become a synonym for being an Indian? Thats some fast evolving vocabulary!)
4. When they could not stop karsevaksfrom demolishing the Babri Masjid, how will they be able to stop us from carrying out the construction of the mandir?

(Hmm. There is a point. Twisted and psychopathic in nature but, a point nonetheless )
5. “These people speak the language of terrorists. There is no difference between the language of Shah Rukh Khan and that of Hafiz Saeed. He should remember that if a huge mass of people boycotts his films, he will also have to wander on the streets like a normal Muslim. ”
( SRK should remember to be the rock star and the witty quote machine that he is and should remember nothing but that)

So, lets give him a chance. A chance to put a tick mark against his wish list and a mark on the pride of the country.
Any person who cant to convert the nation into a “hindu” rashtra has failed as an Indian citizen for not understanding the essence and the spirit of India.

Where is the leader?

life, politics, Questions, Reflections, Uncategorized

UP election results and the naming of the CM if not anything else, would make helluva political thriller movie.
The landslide victory of BJP in the state after almost 1.5 decades signifies what?

An obvious answer is, people were fed up with the government that was ruling and ruled and had enough of their lies and false promises. Also, the indian voter probably looked beyond the religious angle, considering a substantial number of muslims too voted for BJP and voted not for their religion but for a change that the region desperately needs.
That being said, with Yogi getting the CM seat, the current government has unabashedly and unapologetically declared in as many words about their leaning, their preferences and their beliefs.

Their message is loud and clear.

Thats what we are. Thats how we will work. Have a problem? Either build yourself up or stfu.
What it means for us?

Again, saying modi is a sanghi and shouting that from the roof top would not bring any changes. Saying the hindutva agenda is what they are spreading is rhetorical and very clear. So, what needs to be done?
Just for a moment, lets just forget about the religious and right wing or leftist politics. Who in the current indian political scenario can be called a leader? Rahul? Kejriwal? Who is there?
For the majority of the people, who have a hard time getting a roof over their heads and food on their plates, who seems to be the man who might, hopefully change their lives? Who else had given such a strong message , be it left or right, morally right or wrong, in the past few decades?
Modi did a phenomenal job of building himself up as a leader with a voice.
The left sadly did a miserable job of equating everything that walks or crawls on the surface of this country to modi and turned the love people have for their own country into something that deserves nothing but guilt. This precisely backfired and a lot of people who had enough of political correctness and the strong appeasement that left continued, started siding with BJP.
India is a Hindu majority country. BJP right now is extreme right with a clear hindutva agenda which they are neither ashamed nor apologetic about. Being such hardliners and extreme right wing, they got such massive victory in 2014 and again recently in UP elections which were considered crucial for Indian politics. Why? Are majority of us muslim haters? Are the majority of us sanghis? Are the majority of us in love with RSS?
I dont think so. I think what majority of the country wanted was, a change.
They did vote for the saffron colour and the hindutva agenda. They also voted for what they thought after a very long time, would bring a change. BJP happened to crack that desperation, that pulse that people had about having a strong government and build their image, campaign and Modi, all tailer made to counter the desperation of the majority of the country.
Again, equating everything that’s good in this country to Modi and trashing it would not do anything to counter the situation.
Opposition needs to refresh their approach, build a leader that had a voice, an opinion, is not afraid of having strong leanings and is not always politically correct.
Its time. The current government used their brains and understood the raw emotions of the country that were present in undertones and consolidated them.
To counter them, the only thing that would work would be, finally building a leader. A person that would again give the people of this country an option. As i said before , a leader with a voice.
